To my Dearest Shira,
I am so proud of all of your accomplishments and I know that Zayde is watching you today and everyday. I can feel him kvelling from all the naches you bring us!
Words cannot express how humbled I am that you feel my life has had such an impact on yours. Thank you for seeing to it that our stories be told and our family remembered.
I was hopeful after the Holocaust that my legacy would be my family and the good they would contribute to the world.
You, my darling Shira,
have fulfilled those hopes of mine!
I love You,
Bubby
Bubby - Judith Ginsburg was born Yudis Kosczzanska on January 6, 1925 in Lida, Poland (now Bellarus.) One of five children, four girls and one boy, Judith was the only member of her immediate family to survive the Holocaust. Judith survived the war by living and fighting in the forest as a member of both the Raschinsky and Bielski Paritsan units. In 1945 she married Motke Ginsburg, also a Partisan who fought in the Russian unit, Iskra. They spent four years in Ferenvald, a Displaced Persons camp in Germany where they had their first two children, Howard and Riva. Judith and her family immigrated to Troy, NY in 1949 and had two more children, Fran and Sheri. There they began a new life focusing on creating a beautiful and vibrant family. Bubby's greatest joy was to be surrounded the warm and loving family she and Motke created together. When Bubby passed away in October, 2021 she was enveloped in the love of her four children, ten grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
